BEING OPTIMIST OR BEING HOPEFUL

Are you an optimist? Yes, like the other people you should be a bit optimist to make your life more livable. So, what does optimism means? Optimism, is a term of psychology which is defined in Cambridge Online Dictionaries as being hopeful and emphasizing the good part of a situation rather than the bad part; the belief that good things will happen in the future. In addition it can be described as hopefulness and confidence about the future or the success of something. We call people who are hopeful and emphasize the good part of an event or situation rather than the bad part as optimists. On the other hand, this understanding is being criticized by another views such as pessimism, idealism and realism, leads to a state of mind that believes everything is as it should be, and that the future will be as well.

Family and personal health have the most important effects on people who are optimist. Global economy and politics has a little role in optimism. Most of these people are feeling optimistic about their family life, personal relationships and social life. According to their reflections about the events or situations we can divide optimism in three types.
Some people are always optimists. They do not chance their expectations in any case. They expect that everything will be better or the best. Some believes that their optimisms spread around them. Whatever the circumstance, they continue to believe that everything will be all right. They are a big dreamer, because every time they can’t get their expectations. Sometimes they can experience excellent disappointments. We can call them “unabashed optimists”.

On the other hand some of them choose to expect according to situations. Sometimes they expect the best, sometimes they know that they can’t get what they want. These people, situational optimists, are closer than the others to be a realist because they are more realistic about the possible outcomes of events.
Some people believe that they can change or can’t change what’s going to happen to them. Fatalists says that they can’t change but on contrast Individualists believe that they can change what‘s going to happen to them. Fatalists believe all the things which they experienced are depends on their fate and only God can change that. They can’t change or they can’t interfere. Individualists do not think the same way, ın contrast they believe that they have an impact on everything which they experience in their life whether it is good or bad.

Even if you are an unabashed optimists, situational optimists, fatalists or individualists you are experiencing millions of things in a day. They can be good or they can be bad and the reflections, your behaviors can determine whether you are an optimist or not. However, if you want to make your life more livable, as it is indicated before you, should be a bit optimist.  Actually it is not called optimism; we call that just being hopeful about future.
