EFFECTS OF CARTOONS

Choosing cartoons which is being watched by children is as important as choosing their toys.  They spend most of their time while they are watching television, especially they watch cartoons. Unfortunately, they are being affected directly and immediately. They start to behave and speak like their favorite cartoon character. They want to have the same condition, life standards and same power. For example; girls want to have beautiful clothes, beautiful appearance; while boys want to have a car, to be powerful, or extra abilities like flying and teleporting.  They choose their favorite character as a modal and they think the characters are real. But most of the cartoons are containing disturbing scenes and violence. On the other hand instead of training children, cartoons are making children unsocial, careless, insensitive dreamer. Most of them do not want to attend any social activity or group; they want to stay at home and just watch TV. Cartoons also affect children’s cultural improvement. Children learn and adopt a different culture from their community in which they are growing up.   That can cause communication problems with other people. A big number of children which like watching cartoons have weak connections with their parents, moreover they have not reading habit, they do not know sharing their toys or stuffs, they cannot play alone and they have communication problems. It’s clear that cartoons affect children, we cannot prevent their watching. But instead of producing these kinds of useless cartoons, we can produce more beneficial and educational cartoons to make our children more sensitive, communicative and social.
